At Langra, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use our desktop translation application.
1. Information We Collect
Langra is designed with privacy in mind. The application:
• Does not collect, store, or transmit the text you translate
• Does not track your usage patterns or behavior
• Does not require an account or personal information to use the app
• Stores your API keys locally on your device only
2. How We Use Your Information
The text you translate is sent to Azure OpenAI Service for processing and is not stored by Langra. Your API keys (if using BYOK) are stored locally on your device in encrypted form and are never transmitted to our servers.
3. Third-Party Services
Langra integrates with the following third-party service:
• Azure OpenAI Service: Text is sent to Microsoft Azure OpenAI for translation processing. Microsoft's data usage policies apply. See Microsoft's Privacy Policy
4. Data Storage
All application data, including your preferences and API keys, is stored locally on your device. We do not maintain servers that store user data. Your translation history is not saved unless you explicitly enable local caching in settings.
5. Automatic Updates
Langra checks for application updates by connecting to GitHub releases. This connection only transmits your current version number to determine if an update is available. No personal information is transmitted during this process.
6. BYOK (Bring Your Own Key)
When using BYOK mode, you provide your own Azure OpenAI API key. This key is stored locally on your device and is used solely to authenticate with Azure OpenAI services. Langra never has access to or stores your API key on our servers.
7. Children's Privacy
Langra does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The application is designed for general use and does not collect personal information from any users.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
